SUMMARY:Tree ID with Central Texas Seed Savers
DESCRIPTION:Join the Central Texas Seed Savers, TreeFolks, and Pease Park Conservancy ( https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tree-id-with-central-texas-seed-savers-tickets-569794088457 ) for a Tree ID and seed collecting class in Pease Park!\nHave you been wondering what kind of tree is growing in your yard? Maybe you want to know what the difference is between a Lacey Oak and a Texas Live Oak?\nWell, worry no more because the Central Texas Seed Savers and TreeFolks are coming to Pease Park to lead a Tree ID class to help you learn a little more about what’s growing around you! Folks of all ages can learn about key characteristics that differentiate once tree from another. This class will also have a seed collection component for dispersal and use throughout the community!\nWe will gather at the Picnic Tables before heading out on the walk.\nThe Central Texas Seed Savers is a growing network of people who love seeds with the mission of preventing the extinction of ecologically and culinarily important plants in the Central Texas Region. Pease Park Conservancy celebrates the diverse ecology and history that make Austin’s first public park valuable and unique. The Conservancy works to restore, enhance and maintain this 84-acre public green space for the sustainable use and enjoyment of all through conservation and programming efforts. TreeFolks was founded as Austin’s Urban Forestry non-profit in 1989. Since then, TreeFolks has grown to work with communities throughout Central Texas in community tree planting, tree giveaways, education and urban-wildland reforestation efforts. Our mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.\nREGISTER HERE\n \n
