Volunteer Planting Event for the Travis County Floodplain Reforestation Program as part of It’s My Park Day!
March 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Come plant trees with us along Bellingham Meadows Greenbelt for our newest reforestation program serving eastern Travis County as part of It’s My Park Day! During this family-friendly event, TreeFolks will break ground by helping volunteers to plant native trees.
This event will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 10 am-1 pm and will be held on private land near Elgin, TX. Volunteers must register online prior to the event in order to receive the address via email. Register to volunteer here: https://www.treefolks.org/volunteer/.
The Travis County Floodplain Reforestation Program works to restore healthy forest buffers in eastern Travis County floodplains while addressing regional climate impacts through the generation of Carbon+ Credits through City Forest Credits 501(c)3s. This pilot project is made possible by The Nature Conservancy’s Natural Climate Solutions grant, funded in part by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and by the City of Austin.
During this upcoming season, TreeFolks will plant more than 50,000 trees on public and private land. The Carbon+ Credits generated will help to fund future tree plantings and will protect the trees for years to come.
