TreeHouse Sapling Days

By October 1, 2016No Comments

Fall is the best time to plant trees in Central Texas, so TreeFolks is giving away baby trees!  TreeFolks new partner TreeHouse will host the first Saplings Day giveaway of the season on this Sunday, October 16 from 1:00-3:00 PM.

The public is invited to come adopt your baby Burr oak or Carolina buckthorn sapling at a family-friendly tree education event this Sunday at TreeHouse to kick off Texas Native Plants Week; or, at a second Saplings Day on Saturday, October 29 at Cepeda Branch Public Library.

Arrive early to pick up your sapling, learn about how to plant and care for it, and stick around to take advantage of promotions on mulch at TreeHouse.

“TreeHouse is excited to partner with TreeFolks to support Texas Native Plants week and the planting of over 250 native saplings in the Austin community. Supporting the community in planting efforts and education is at the heart of the Treehouse mission, too.  So, we look forward to this great event with TreeFolks and you!” says Julia Plume, Event Coordinator for TreeHouse.

TreeFolks partners with Austin Public Library for a second Sapling Day on October 29.  Come to the Cepeda Branch Library for a fun, family event! The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, a supporter of Sapling Day, will also be on hand to speak with community members.

Sapling Days began more than 15 years ago as a way to celebrate autumn and early winter — the best times to plant trees in Texas! Funding for Sapling Days is generously provided by Randalls, The Apache Corporation, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, and TreeHouse.
