Treefolks Pride Shirt Design Contest

Calling all LGBTQIA+ artists, designers, and creatives to submit designs to the first ever TreeFolks Pride T-Shirt Design Contest!

For the first time, TreeFolks will be participating in the Austin Pride Parade in August 2022.

We’re dedicated to showing up for the incredible LGBTQIA+ community in Austin, so we’re kicking off National Pride Month with the first TreeFolks Pride T-Shirt Design Contest. Submissions will be accepted from June 1 to July 7.

As we build out our Tree Canopy Equity work, we’re committed to being more equitable, more intentional, and more affirming to our LGBTQIA+ neighbors. For the duration of National Pride Month in June 2022, we will be accepting submissions for TreeFolks’ very first Pride logo and graphic design for staff and supporters to showcase in our first float in the Austin Pride Parade. Submissions will be accepted until July 7. From now until Austin Pride, we’ll be highlighting contest artists, LGBTQIA+ owned and allied sponsors, and LGBTQIA+ identifying staff and supporters who wish to share what the intersectionality of TreeFolks and Pride means to them in a meaningful storytelling campaign.

As we shine a light on the LGBTQIA+ members of our community who consistently show up and advocate for the values we share, we’re excited to work with businesses, organizations, and community members to keep us equitable and accountable as we continue expanding our equity work.

    Design Details

    • A unique, new Pride-themed design including “TreeFolks”
    • Ideally including colors or aspects of the Progress Pride Flag, but not required
    • The design can be as simple as a unique TreeFolks logo with Pride-themed colors, but we encourage artists to be as creative as you’d like and form a design that both includes “TreeFolks” and also blends trees with LGBTQIA+ culture and identity – displaying the intersectionality that we’re hoping to showcase.
    • Feel free to include aspects/landmarks/themes of Austin and/or Central Texas in your design, but also not required.
    • Designs must be no longer than 10 inches (must fit on a screen-printed shirt) and no taller than 8 inches.
    • If possible, please submit the designs as both images and SVG files, but any and all submissions and file types are welcomed.

    What you could win:
    * All designs submitted to the TreeFolks Pride T-Shirt Design Contest will be prominently featured on TreeFolks’ website including the artist’s name and a statement about the piece.
    * The top 3 finalists, including the first-place winner, will receive tiered Visa gift cards.
    * The winner with the selected TreeFolks’ Pride design is partnered with Bumperactive to have one piece of their artwork sold in Bumperactive’s store (artwork to be determined by artist & Bumperactive), is invited to ride on the TreeFolks Pride float with one guest, and receives the aforementioned gift card.
