Tree ID for Herbalists with Ginger Webb
Have you been wanting to learn how to identify trees? And learn their role in herbalism? Well, you’re in luck, because TreeFolks and the Sacred Journey School of Herbalism are coming to The Festival Beach Food Forest to lead a Tree ID lesson to help you learn a little more about what’s growing around you!
You will learn how to identify native trees and how to safely and ethically collect seeds to donate to the TreeFolks Seeds To Trees Native Nursery. Ginger Webb will share herbal wisdom about the trees we meet on the walk. We look forward to seeing you there!
Ginger Webb has been deeply immersed in the study of herbs in central Texas for 30+ years and has supported hundreds of people to reconnect with the plant world as medicine. Since 2012, Sacred Journey School of Herbalism has offered in-depth herbalist programs to interested folks and new herbalists.
The school reflects Ginger’s love of the plant world; her experience studying with herbalist Michael Moore; her years of medicine-making experience; her assertion that herbalism is the people’s medicine; and her belief we all have access to the healing wisdom of the plant world simply because we are alive and share consciousness with all life.
Foundations of Herbalism is the complete 200 hour introductory level program offered by Sacred Journey School of Herbalism and includes both in-person and online interactive learning. This is the perfect place to start your journey with herbs or to take your self-study to a new level! Classes begin this September, and enrollment is open now: https://gingerwebb.com/foundations-herbalism-course/
TreeFolks was founded as Austin’s Urban Forestry non-profit in 1989. Since then, TreeFolks has grown to work with communities throughout Central Texas in community tree planting, tree giveaways, education, and urban-wildland reforestation efforts. Our mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.
