A Journey Through Trees: TreeFolks’ Heartfelt Tree ID Adventures

In the heart of our lively city, amidst the hustle and bustle, TreeFolks and our amazing team of volunteer tree guides, both within TreeFolks and in partnership with Central Texas Seed Savers, are on a mission that’s as heartwarming as it is green. We’re not just about trees; we’re about bringing people together, especially those who’ve often felt left out of these wonderful conversations about nature. Our goal? To create a big, loving family of tree lovers from all walks of life.

We’re especially excited to announce that some of our upcoming tree walks will be in Spanish! This isn’t just about translating words; it’s about opening our arms wide to our Spanish-speaking friends and saying, “Come, let’s explore nature together!” These walks aren’t just about trees; they’re about weaving stories, sharing laughs, and making memories.

We hope the impact of these walks will go far beyond what happens during those few hours. We are planting seeds of curiosity and love for nature that will grow and flourish long after the walk is over. It’s about transforming communities, one leaf at a time, and creating a legacy of care and connection with our green spaces.

One of our main goals is to help others become Tree ID Leaders within your community. If you love nature and sharing your knowledge with others, you can become one! You don’t need any previous experience or training, just a desire to learn and improve your observation skills. We have developed a Tree ID curriculum to share with you, and will be here to support you on your learning journey. Questions are encouraged and practice is the key to becoming an expert.

Whenever you feel ready, we will help you to lead your own walk, and publicize it on our website and social media. This is a great opportunity to gain knowledge, have fun, give back to your community, and help others discover all the benefits of trees. We will also teach you all about seed collection so you can help people to collect and donate tree seeds to our TreeFolks Native Tree Nursery.

So, if you’re ready for an adventure that’s equal parts fun and touching, join us on our tree ID walks. Whether you speak English, Spanish, or a little bit of both, there’s a place for you in our big tree-loving family. Let’s explore, learn, and grow together, one tree at a time.
