Austin Arbor Day 2012

The 21st Austin Arbor Day celebration is a partnership between the City of Austin, The Trail Foundation, and TreeFolks.  The celebration will include tree planting & mulching, a free sapling giveaway, fun activities, information booths, and an appearance by Mayor Lee Leffingwell.  The event will begin at 9 am with an address by Mayor Leffingwell followed by tree planting & mulching from 9:30 to 11:30, then activities and information booths from 11:30 to 1:30.

9:00 am – Opening Ceremony & Address by Mayor Leffingwell
9:30 am – Volunteers Planting 150 Trees
11:30 am –  Activities & Information Booths

Seed-Ball-Making
Bucket Truck Rides (18+)
Face Painting
Kid’s Tree Climb (They Might Be Monkeys! – Texas Tree & Land Co.)

* Parking is available along Veteran’s Drive, beneath the MOPAC bridge, in the Austin H.S. parking lot, and in the Zilker Park/Auditorium Shores parking lots. Parking is very limited, so we encourage carpooling and alternative transportation (bike, bus, walk) if possible.
